2013 Anderson-Oconee-Pickens Business & Industry Showcase

Clemson University’s Littlejohn Coliseum was filled with hundreds of 8th and 9th graders this month for the Anderson-Oconee-Pickens Business & Industry Showcase. This event gives these young students a chance to ask questions of local businesses to possibly gain some career awareness. Eric Sikes, our East Coast sales representative, manned the Sealevel booth and witnessed that the students were interested in the event.¬†According to Sikes, “It was refreshing to see so many young minds so intrigued by what our products do and how they are used.”

There are a million different career paths out there, but the opportunity to learn about different options is valuable to our children’s future. It is very important to invest in the upcoming generations and this showcase could be just the place where a kid finds his true passion.

Although Sealevel hopes the next star engineer was in this group of students, we know that this event is about motivating young people to engage with their communities and to think big about career choices. It was all about the kids and we hope they enjoyed visiting our booth and learning about what we do here at Sealevel.  We look forward to participating again next year!

Do you remember an event that led you down your career path?
