My experience is normally when a group congregates, it’s to protest about something or make themselves heard for a cause, which only really affects them. This gathering was for the greater good of Greenville and the surrounding areas – for businesses, for schools and universities, and for individuals; not only so we can download the latest films within a few seconds or transfer large files more easily, but to show the world that Greenville is a progressive, modern and cosmopolitan city that ought to be considered as such.

I’m pleased to have my feet back on the ground after interesting trips to Israel and Germany. We had some great successes in both countries, managing to forge new relationships across borders, which is a focus for Sealevel going forward. As an earlier blog from Earle Foster discusses, the best business is done when personal interaction is involved.
We just returned from a very successful tradeshow in San Diego. Co-sponsored by the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) and the U.S. Naval Institute, the WEST show is the largest event on the West Coast for communications, electronics, intelligence, information systems, imaging, military weapon systems, aviation and shipbuilding.
After many years in this industry slogging it out every day, things began to go stale. I mean business was good, projects were interesting and life in the sleepy town of Stone, England was, well not that exciting. I can only liken it to a hamster wheel, life going round and round. Every day became ground hog day, that same song on the radio, the same faces in the pub on a Friday night. Round and round. I needed change, and change is what I got.
