Navy Finds AN/PRC Battlefield Radio Solution with Sealevel Systems

MilAeroMagCoverCheck out our new ACC-188 Tactical Radio Adapter with Quick Disconnect feature in the November 2013 issue of Military & Aerospace Electronics.

The U.S. Navy was searching for a special radio adapter to give tactical radios the capability of sending and receiving IP data such as GPS maps, images, coordinates, and IM-type communications. Sealevel was able to provide the perfect solution with our ACC-188 synchronous serial adapter and the Naval Air Systems Command chose us as their sole-source provider.

A key advantage of the ACC-188 is that it enables interoperability among the various radio brands and models used by the defense community. The adapter is compatible with any tactical radio that has a synchronous communication port using MIL-STD-188-184. The ACC-188 adapter is built to outlast the harshest environments and operates with PDA-184 software developed by the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). The PDA-184 software provides a Graphical User interface (GUI) that allows data to be transmitted at high speeds.

Sealevel is honored to be able to provide the Navy with a product that meets their high standards. The recent addition of the quick disconnect feature to our 9065 cable allows the adapter to be easily configured for several different target radios.
