The WEST 2014 show is coming up February 11th-13th and Sealevel is excited to exhibit a wide range of communications and computing products to the military and civilian audience. WEST targets the Sea Services and, in addition to the exhibition, offers attendees a number of technical sessions and opportunities to hear key military and business leaders speak on important matters of national defense and readiness.
Today, communications plays an increasingly vital role in our military strategy and tactical operations, and it is always interesting to see the advances introduced at WEST. I’m extremely interested in seeing the new Network on the Move (NOTM) vehicle the Marine Corps Tactical Systems Support Activity (MCTSSA) will have at the show. This new point-of presence vehicle (POP-V) will provide the field commander and staff with tactical capabilities that you would find in a combat operations center.
Sealevel is proud to play a part in the communications toolkit for the military. In fact, the Marine Corp. recently selected our ACC-188 tactical radio adapter for upgrading their AN/PRC radios. When combined with free PDA-184 software from the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), the ACC-188 provides a fully interoperable, high speed data communications solution for tactical radios to send and receive IP data including email, text messages, files, and images. The PDA-184 software provides a Graphical User Interface (GUI) that allows radio users to transmit and receive a variety of data types at much higher speeds than is possible with comparable proprietary solutions.
A key advantage of the ACC-188 is that it enables interoperability among the various radio brands and models used by the defense community. To further enhance the adaptability of the ACC-188 to various radios, we’ve recently added a quick-disconnect cable feature that allows the adapter to be easily configured for the user’s target radio. This feature allows maximum communications capabilities with the smallest footprint, lightest weight, and lowest cost possible.
Sealevel is also proud to support our armed forces by offering a complete line of MIL-STD-1553, MIL-STD-1760, and ARINC 429 products. Sealevel’s MIL-STD-1553 designs are specifically engineered for aerospace, avionics and military applications. We have a full a compliment of 1553 IP Cores, board level products, bus testers, and components that combine to offer one of the most flexible and reliable MIL-STD-1553 solutions available.
