Rolling Stones Keyboardist Lends Support to Sealevel's Eco-Initiatives
- Internationally known musician
- Director of Environmental Affairs for the Mother Nature Network
- Owner with his wife Rose Lane of Charlane Plantation
Sealevel Systems hosted Chuck Leavell, keyboardist for the Rolling Stones and environmental activist, on Monday, August 17.
Leavell, a celebrity spokesperson for the company, was in town to record voice-overs and videos that will be featured throughout Sealevel?s new marketing campaign, specifically the company?s environmental awareness campaign. As owner of a family-owned tree farm and director of environmental affairs for the Mother Nature Network, Leavell is committed to the environment and helping others improve their communities.
One of the most respected and sought-after piano players and keyboardists in modern music history, Chuck Leavell?s work both as a solo artist and as a musician with The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, George Harrison, The Allman Brothers Band, The Black Crowes, Gov?t Mule, Train and many others is among the most accomplished of any living keyboardist. Leavell is an inductee in both the Georgia Music Hall of Fame and the Alabama Music Hall of Fame.
Leavell's accomplishments as a conservationist and tree farmer are equally impressive. Leavell and wife Rose Lane White Leavell have turned her family's Charlane Plantation near Macon, GA, into a textbook tree farm. Recognized by a number of conservation organizations, Leavell is the only two-time recipient of the Georgia Tree Farmer of the Year award. In 1999, the American Tree Farm System selected Chuck and Rose Lane as the National Outstanding Tree Farmers of the Year. Active in forestry and conservation issues, his book, Forever Green: The History and Hope of the American Forest is acclaimed by both the forestry and conservation communities and has been nominated for several awards.
To help minimize their global footprint, Sealevel Systems encourages employees, customers and vendors to become more environmentally responsible. From eco-friendly outreach to complying with global green directives, the family-owned company is developing eco-friendly initiatives to protect the planet for generations to come.
