Sealevel Recognized for Philanthropic Spirit

November 2, 2012

Sealevel was recognized as the Philanthropic Spirit Award winner during the Charitable Giving Awards in Greenville on November 1. The award, presented by Community Foundation, TOWN Magazine, and the Greenville Journal, recognizes a business that fosters charitable giving through employee incentive programs and is dedicated to giving back to the Upstate in a significant manner.

Sealevel takes pride in helping organizations that support the arts, children, and education. The company supports the local arts community through organizations like The Peace Center and the Greenville Museum. In 2012 the company hosted two events through Euphoria, Greenville’s premier food, wine, and music festival, including a one-night-only concert with Sealevel’s celebrity spokesperson, Chuck Leavell.

Planting the seeds of science and technology education early is important to Sealevel. In 2012 the company established an endowment for engineering students at Clemson University, supported science and technology programs in the Pickens County and sponsored a summer engineering camp at The Children’s Museum of the Upstate.

The welfare of children and families in the Upstate is also a concern for Sealevel. The company supports a number of organizations like A Child’s Haven and the Meyer Center, which offer educational and therapeutic services to children with disabilities. Sealevel president, Ben O’Hanlan, also serves on the board of The Family Effect, an organization that works to reduce addiction as a leading cause of family collapse and harm to children.

In addition to being recognized for charitable giving, Sealevel also took third place in the Roaring Twenties Awards sponsored by SC Biz News. The award recognizes top-performing businesses headquartered in South Carolina. Sealevel designs and develops products for customers who are working to make the world a strong, safer, better place. From military and government projects to working with medical and broadcast communications companies, Sealevel is focused on creating a higher quality of life within our community for generations to come.
