Sealevel Systems, Inc. Introduces New High-Speed Synchronous Low Profile PCI Adapter

December 8, 2003

Sealevel Systems, Inc. announces the ACB-Ultra.LPCI, a Low Profile PCI bus RS-232/422/485 synchronous serial interface.

Boasting data rates up to 10M bps, the ACB-Ultra.LPCI is an ideal solution for satellite, radar, banking, and other specialized high-speed synchronous applications. Based on the Zilog Z16C32 IUSC, the board includes an on-board DMA controller to eliminate bus bandwidth constraints and increase throughput. The ACB-Ultra.LPCI is also equipped with 256K of on-board RAM and a 32-byte FIFO buffer to maximize performance without increasing processor overhead.

The ACB-Ultra.LPCI meets the requirements for the MD1 Low Profile specification as defined by PCISIG in the PCI 2.2 “Low Profile Addendum.” Each board ships with both the low profile bracket and the standard profile PCI slot bracket, offering the customer versatility in installation. The ACB-Ultra.LPCI also features Universal Bus (3.3V and 5.0V) as required by PCISIG specification 2.3.

Software support, critical for successful synchronous communication implementation, is provided through Sealevel’s SeaMAC v4.1 driver. SeaMAC supports a variety of protocols under Windows 2000/XP including HDLC/SDLC, Bi-Sync/Monosync, and Raw (bit-shifter). Clocking is selectable using the internal baud rate generator or from an external source. Standard Win32 API functions are supported.

Like all Sealevel I/O products, the board includes a lifetime warranty.
