SBC-R9 ARM9 RISC Single Board Computer

RISC Computing with Unmatched I/O and Windows CE 6.0

RISC Computing with Unmatched I/O and Windows CE 6.0

Sealevel’s new SBC-R9 single board computer is the perfect platform for embedded applications requiring small size, wide operating temperature range, and flexible I/O connectivity. The design uses the latest Windows CE 6.0 embedded software environment and is based on the Atmel AT91SAM9263 microcontroller.
The SBC-R9:
  • Provides up to 256MB of SDRAM and 256MB Flash Memory
  • Features serial, digital, analog I/O
  • Allows you to directly drive TFT/STN LCDs from the on-board video controller
  • Includes a resistive touchscreen controller perfect for human-machine interface applications

For applications with specialized hardware requirements, the SBC-R9 can be used for development while a customized target system is designed for your specific requirements. Sealevel offers full electrical, mechanical, and software design services to supplement your in-house capabilities.

Tech Lowdown
Optimize the SBC-R9 with Windows CE 6.0

Get your OEM system design to market faster with the SBC-R9 using Windows Embedded CE 6.0. This latest release of Windows CE offers performance, security, and other improvements over its predecessors. CE 6.0 supports 32k simultaneous processes with up to 2GB of virtual memory per process Windows Embedded CE is an embedded, real-time operating system that is recommended by Microsoft for application-specific devices such as consumer electronics, industrial automation, scientific test & measurement and medical devices.compared with CE 5.0, which is limited to 32 processes and 32MB virtual memory per process. Performance has been improved by moving system processes, such as the Graphics, Windowing and Events Subsystem (GWES); file system manager (filesys.exe); and device driver manager (device.exe) to the kernel.

To simplify application development for the SBC-R9, Sealevel includes the Windows CE 6.0 BSP binary and low-level drivers for system I/O. Additionally, the software package is equipped with the Sealevel Talos I/O framework, which offers a high-level object-oriented .NET Compact Framework (CF) device interface. These features make the SBC-R9 the ideal application-ready platform for your next embedded product design.
