Systems Introduces 16-Port, PCI Serial I/O Adapter Designed using the XR16C850 UART, the COMM+16.PCI supports standard PC data rates and boasts a top speed of 460.8K bps. Each port provides a 128-byte FIFO, 16 times larger than boards designed with 16C550 parts, to allow error free operation even in high-speed applications. Connection to the board is made through two high-density 68-pin connectors that fan out to 16 individual DB25 male connectors. The COMM+16.PCI also features a Universal Bus as required by PCISIG specification 2.3, allowing compatibility with today’s new 3.3V computers as well as older 5V systems. To complement the board, Sealevel has introduced our latest version of SeaMAC synchronous software driver: SeaMAC V4. Synchronous communications methods include SDLC, HDLC, and BiSync.
