Low Profile PCI Bus Board Offers Two RS-232/422/485 ports Like all new Sealevel asynchronous serial boards, the ULTRA 530.LPCI is designed using the XR16C850 UART which provides a 128-byte FIFO, 16 times larger than boards designed with 16C550 parts. The XR16C850 is backward-compatible with 16C550 parts, so there is no worry about software compatibility in existing applications.
At 2.536” tall, the Ultra.COMM+2.LPCI meets the requirements for
the MD1 Low Profile specification as defined by PCISIG in PCI 2.2 “Low
Profile Addendum.” Sealevel Systems, Inc. ships each adapter with
both the Low Profile bracket and the standard size PCI slot bracket,
offering the customer compatibility with either size PCI slot. The Ultra.COMM+2.LPCI
also features a Universal Bus as required by PCISIG specification 2.3,
allowing compatibility with today’s new 3.3V computers as well
as older 5V systems. |

Two Port Multi-interface PC/104 Module Conforming strictly to the PC/104 specification, the SIO.104+2 provides two RS-232/422/485 ports, allowing field-selectable connection to a variety of real-world devices. Each port can be individually configured and offers automatic control of the RTS signal when using RS-485 mode. The SIO.104+2 is designed using the XR16C850 UART, which supports standard PC data rates and boasts a top speed of 460.8K bps. The SIO.104+2 provides a 128-byte FIFO, 16 times larger than boards designed with 16C550 parts, to allow error free operation even in high-speed applications The
SIO.104+2, part number 3502, ships with Sealevel Systems’ SeaCOM™
suite of Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP drivers. Sealevel also Includes
WinSSD, a full-featured application providing powerful testing and diagnostic
capabilities. Use WinSSD for BERT (Bit Error Rate Testing), throughput
monitoring, loopback tests, and transmit test pattern messages. |

Isochronous (pronounced eye-SAH-krun-us ) refers to a communication mode in which each byte of data is transmitted or received using asynchronous start and stop framing bits and a 1X clock. The 1X clock can be supplied externally by a transmitting device or can be generated and transmitted via on-board circuitry. This mode of operation is particularly useful in applications that require continuous streams of data and can accept occasional errors such as in high-speed audio and video applications. Sealevel
has several products that support isochronous operation. One of the
most versatile is the Ultra 530.LPCI card, part number 7106-SN. In order
to support isochronous mode, this version of our 7106 board is equipped
with an optional 16C950 UART. This Low Profile card supports RS-232/422/485/530
electrical interfaces and is a single channel interface. |
