Can I use Sealevel synchronous serial adapters with Linux?

Sealevel SeaMAC software is used to enable Linux support for products which feature the Zilog® Z85230 Enhanced Serial Communications Controller (ESCC). Our Route56 software package should be used to enable Linux support for products that feature the Zilog® Z16C32 Integrated Universal Serial Controller (IUSC). Both software packages are available for download from the Sealevel website.

The device drivers in these software packages are in the form of GPL licensed source code files that have been written to be independent of a specific Linux distribution. Many different Linux variants can build and utilize this driver code; though, some Linux variants cannot do so in their default configurations. However, these variants can build and use these drivers after minor modifications are made to symbolic links, the driver makefile, the Linux kernel build options, etc. See the documentation included in the software package for details about building the driver.
