This document describes the Sealevel Systems SeaMAC for Linux software release.

This document is divided into the following sections:

Description
===========
    SeaMAC supports many popular protocols such as HDLC/SDLC, various bisync,
    monosync, and raw (bit-shifter) modes.


Requirements
============
    1. Sealevel Systems synchronous serial hardware.
    2. 32-bit or 64-bit Linux with kernel 4.0 or later
    3. 20MB free hard drive space.


Changes
=======
Version 1.7.0
    1. Driver
        a. Added support for 5402ec, 5102ec
        b. ACB support extended to DMESCC-based cards while retaining
           support for Zilog Z85230-based cards.
        c. Source code rearranged to make future maintenance easier.
           Often-edited functions relocated toward top-of-file.
        d. Builds on kernel 4.15 through 7.1
    2. Utilities
        a. recv ("receive")(new)
            - Supports continuous reception of received data. Received data displayed on-screen.
            - Provides a hot-key menu allowing commands to be run while waiting on Rx.
            - Has commands providing a limited means of transmitting messages out.
        b. send (new)
            - Sends a designated message out continuously.
            - Small app, no receive capability.
        c. setseamac
            - Relocated down a level, to its own folder, parallel to recv and send.
