SeaI/O Products Win ECN Technology Award

January 4, 2006

Sealevel Systems® SeaI/O family, a modular I/O system that offers selectable connectivity and a wide variety of I/O types for distributed control and data acquisition requirements, has been selected by ECN magazine as a 2005 Technology Award winner for boards and modules. SeaI/O was chosen for this honor as a result of editorial review and ECN reader inquiries of products featured in ECN during 2005.

SeaI/O products offer an array of configurations and are designed for maximum flexibility and easy field wiring. Ordering options allow connection to the host device via Ethernet (Modbus TCP), RS-485 (Modbus RTU), USB, or RS-232. Multiple units of any I/O type can be easily daisy-chained using convenient pass-through connectors. This expansion capability enables control of a distributed network with a traditional point-to-point USB or RS-232 host connection. For easy software integration, application programs or third-party software can use Sealevel’s SeaMAX libraries or industry-standard Modbus protocol.

SeaI/O modules are perfect for a wide variety of applications and environments including process control, data acquisition, broadcast automation, security, and facility management. A variety of models are currently available offering a choice of optically isolated inputs, Reed and Form C relay outputs, TTL interface to industry-standard solid-state relay racks, and analog inputs and outputs. SeaI/O modules operate from 9-30VDC and power can be connected via terminal block or DC jack. Both table and DIN rail mounting options are available, and configuration is made easy using Sealevel’s software configuration tools.

Standard operating temperature range of SeaI/O modules is 0°C to 70°C and extended temperature range (-40°C to 85°C) is optional.
