Sealevel Awarded InnoVision 2004 Small Enterprise Award

November 12, 2004

InnoVision, the premier awards program focused exclusively on celebrating achievements in innovation and technological excellence in the 10-county South Carolina Upstate region, has selected Sealevel Systems, Inc. as the 2004 recipient of the Small Enterprise Award. The Small Enterprise Award recognizes a small business entity for the innovative application or development of a technology-based product, process or service. Sealevel was chosen from a host of other entries for the design and development of the Relio family of solid-state industrial computers.

The Relio represents the next step in industrial computing, combining the reliability of a programmable logic computer (PLC) with the versatility of a personal computer. Relio systems operate with no moving parts over a wide temperature range. Unreliable hard drives and fans, responsible for most computer failures, are not needed. Applications are typically developed and run under the new Microsoft XP Embedded (XPe) operating system and execute from CompactFlash memory cards.

Relio systems are designed for 19″ rackmount and offer a wide range of input/output functionality to facilitate real-world control and monitoring applications. Dual 10/100BaseT Ethernet, four RS-232/422/485 serial ports, four USB ports, and multimedia-video are standard on all Relio systems. A key element of the design is the ability to add up to three PC/104 expansion modules. Sealevel offers multi-interface serial, optically isolated input, Reed relay output, and TTL output, analog to digital (A/D), digital to analog (D/A), and wireless Ethernet expansion options. Each option is equipped with an I/O connector module that mounts into any of the three expansion sites in the enclosure back panel, allowing any combination of up to three expansion modules. I/O can then be directly wired to the Relio’s back chassis.
