Tech Lowdown – Expand Your Embedded System with One
USB Host Connection
Sealevel’s
HUB4P-OEM embedded USB 2.0 hub allows you to add four internal USB ports
to your embedded system, while only using a single USB host connection. The
hub sources power from a standard hard drive connector, or another +5V source,
and supplies a full 500mA to each attached USB device. When you integrate
the HUB4P-OEM into your system, you can add embedded USB peripherals (e.g.,
the 2228 and SeaLATCH brackets featured above), and you only use one USB
host connection. This approach will save time when completing upgrades and
repairs to embedded systems in the field.
The HUB4P-OEM is supported in Windows, Linux, and other USB
aware operating systems and requires no separate drivers. Simply provide
power and a USB
host connection and the hub is recognized as a standard, high-speed USB hub.
Sealevel offers a variety of internal USB cables to simplify your integration.
