Sealevel Systems, Inc. Announces PC/104 Digital I/O Card with Isolated Inputs/Reed Relay Outputs

July 7, 2003

Sealevel Systems, Inc, known for reliable I/O solutions, announces the DIO-32.104, a 16 input/16 output digital I/O interface for PC/104 bus. The board combines 16 optically isolated inputs and 16 Reed relay outputs, providing an easy, cost-effective way to add real-world control and monitoring capabilities to the PC/104 stack. Designed to meet the core needs of PC/104 applications requiring high reliability, small size, and long term availability, the DIO-32.104 is available in both standard and extended temperature range models (-40°C to 85°C).

Optically isolated inputs serve a vital role in eliminating equipment damage caused by line spikes and surges present in industrial environments. The DIO-32.104 is compatible with 2-24VAC or DC inputs and offers 400VDC isolation. The 16 Reed relay channels provide long life, dry contact switch closures that are well suited for low current applications. Each output is rated for up to 10W operation and allows non-destructive software readback.

Robust software support is provided with the DIO-32.104, including Sealevel?s SeaI/O driver API as well as support for OPC (OLE for Process Control), which allows integration with a range of third-party platforms. Sample programs and utilities are also provided: VCTest is a Visual C++ application that uses the ActiveI/O ActiveX component for SeaI/O to display a series of switches, allowing the user to graphically view and modify digital inputs and outputs. A similar sample program is included for Visual Basic.
