Description

Control and monitor four optically isolated inputs and four Reed relay outputs via any 10/100BaseT Ethernet connection with the eI/O-110E digital I/O module. Inputs can range from 5-30VDC and provide 3500VDC (2500VAC RMS) isolation to ground, while the Reed relays provide long-life switch closures well suited to low-current devices. Each Reed relay has a discrete common and each pair of inputs share a common for easy field wiring via removable 3.5mm terminal blocks.

The eI/O-110E receives power via a removable spring-clamp terminal block. The lever-style clamping mechanism requires no tools, which simplifies field installation. The module is powered by your 9-30VDC source, or select from a variety of Sealevel power supply options.

Ready for DIN rail mounting, the eI/O-110E includes a removable plastic clip that snaps onto 35mm DIN rail. The clip can also be attached to any flat surface such as a wall or under a counter. Standard operating temperature range of eI/O Ethernet digital I/O modules is 0C to +70C. Status LEDS on the front show power and I/O activity. Additionally, LEDs on the RJ45 connector display Ethernet link and communication activity.

Communicate with eI/O Ethernet digital I/O modules using industry standard Modbus TCP protocol or use the Sealevel SeaMAX API software libraries from your application program. Sealevel’s SeaMAX software drivers and utilities make installation and operation easy using Microsoft Windows operating systems.

The Sealevel Modbus Connect app for iOS allows you to access the registers, coils and discrete I/O of your Sealevel Modbus devices and is available on the App Store. Use the app to remotely access I/O in the field or for testing and troubleshooting during application development. The Sealevel Mod+ Connect app is an easy-to-use diagnostic utility that allows you to monitor, test and troubleshoot Sealevel eI/O and SeaI/O modules using your iPhone or iPod touch.

    Reliable Control Modules
We have developed a lock-out automated billing system using the SeaLevel 110e. The system is PHP-MySQL based, controlling access to high dollar electron microscopes and other analytical equipment. The system was also designed to generate billing automatically. To provide the control, we needed a device that was affordable and easy to integrate into the system. The 110e was our choice due to the device size and the price. Our layout here was such that controlling four instruments with a single 110e unit was perfect. The small size of the 110e made it easy to design a standard enclosure to protect it from tampering.

After approximately 8 months of service the 110e control modules have proven reliable. Currently we have 8 in service as part of our system. In some cases we are able to control an instrument directly without an external relay. Where external relays are required we are using the 110e to switch either specially designed VGA mechanical relays or solid state relays that that switch power. Overall we are very satisfied with the SeaLevel 110e.
